With deep joy and gratitude to God, we announce that another of our brethren, Hieromonk Gregory, has successfully completed his master’s studies in theological sciences at the Faculty of Theology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, under the blessing of our beloved Elder, Bishop Parthenius of Antania. On Friday, November 1, 2024, in the University’s ceremonial hall, Father Gregory received his master’s diploma during the graduation oath ceremony for the new graduates.
As part of the postgraduate program in Social Theology and Christian Culture, with a concentration in History, Doctrine, Philosophy, and Archaeology, Hieromonk Gregory successfully defended his thesis entitled “The Fall of Man According to the Great Penitential Canon of Saint Andrew of Crete.” His work, guided by his mentor Professor-Protopresbyter Christos Filiotis-Vlahavas and reviewed by a committee of esteemed professors, including Professor Dr. Simeon Paschalidis and Professor Dr. Theodore Pitaras, delves into the theological interpretation of the Fall of Man and its significance in Orthodox spirituality.
The ceremony was attended by many professors and students, with notable remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Protopresbyter Athanasios Gikas, as well as other distinguished members of the academic community. Our brotherhood, led by Bishop Parthenius, warmly congratulates Brother Gregory on this remarkable achievement and wishes him many fruitful years in service to the Church and our Monastery.
