Feast of the Synaxis of the Holy Archangel Michael at the Bigorski Monastery

The blessed haven of heavenly joy, the sacred Bigorski Monastery, celebrated the Feast of the Synaxis of the Holy Archangel Michael and the Bodiless Powers with special reverence and joy in the past night and day. This grace-filled occasion united the faithful with the divine light of the angelic ranks, led by the invincible Chief Commander, Archangel Michael. The sublime divine service called upon all to align their lives with the divine order, emulating the love and obedience of the heavenly hosts who ceaselessly glorify and praise God.

Last night, under the illuminated arches of the church of the Forerunner, lit by the soft glow of countless candles and vigil lamps, the Bigorski Monastery and its residents immersed themselves in prayerful vigil. Amid the radiance of prayers and hymns, the gathered faithful deeply felt the presence of the heavenly protectors. It was a spiritual reflection of the eternal heavenly Liturgy, where Heaven and Earth became one unified space.

This morning, during the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy presided over by our beloved Elder, His Grace Bishop Parthenius of Antania, that radiance shone even brighter. Under his mystical guidance, all those gathered experienced a profound unity with the heavenly ranks of angels. Just as the angels serve before the throne of God, so too, united in Christ’s love, we offered the bloodless sacrifice of thanksgiving and praise.

Indeed, the Divine Eucharist was a grace-filled communion with the realm of the Holy Angels.

Today’s feast offers us an opportunity to return to the essence of our lives – to unite with God and learn from the Angels how to keep our spirit pure and free of malice. For the Kingdom of Heaven is not a distant reality but exists within our hearts when they open to the love of Christ.

May the Holy Archangel Michael and all the heavenly powers be our intercessors and guardians as we journey toward union with God!
