(Video) The Vespers of Love

Illumined by the uncreated Light of Christ’s Resurrection, and warmed by the overflowing grace that pours forth on this most radiant and life-giving Feast, our souls tremble with joyful awe, and our minds are enlightened by the eternal brilliance of the Day without evening.

With hearts full of gratitude and with songs too fragile to express the inexpressible, we glorify the One Who rose from the tomb on the third day—the very Cause of our own resurrection, the Beginning of the new creation, the Conqueror of death.

The joy of the Lord’s Pascha continued into the afternoon hours, when, according to the ancient Typikon of the Church, the Vespers of Love—also known as the Second Resurrection—was celebrated.

This sacred service stands as a testimony to the fullness and universality of Christ’s victory: the Gospel is proclaimed in many languages, signifying that the joyous news of the Resurrection is meant for all peoples, for every heart, and for every age.

Gathered around their spiritual father and Elder, His Grace Bishop Partenij of Antania, the monastic brotherhood, the sisterhoods, and a multitude of faithful—especially many young people—filled the church with trembling joy, bearing living witness to the risen life in Christ.

This evening service became a true icon of the Church: a community of love, of joy, and of the Resurrection.

At the conclusion of the celebration, all those present shared in the Paschal joy, greeting one another with the eternal acclamation: Christ is Risen! – Truly He is Risen!

Each received a Paschal blessing and a red egg from His Grace Bishop Partenij, and then venerated the holy relics preserved in the Sacred Monastery of Bigorski—living testimonies to the triumph over death, to the abiding presence of sanctity among us, and to the indestructible life that has dawned.

The Lord’s Pascha – a day of hope, a day of light, a day of love and eternity!

CHRIST IS RISEN!
