About Us

The monastery was founded in the year of 1020 by the first Archibshop of Ohrid John of Debar.

It is built in the honour of the Forerunner and Baptist of our Lord, Saint John, for whom the Lord Jesus Christ himself said that there is no greater among those born by women.
