Today, our Holy Monastery once again had the honour of welcoming Her Excellency Ms Larysa Dir, Ambassador of Ukraine, together with her entourage. Our distinguished guest visited Bigorski Monastery out of a devout desire to venerate the holy shrine and prayerfully seek the blessing of Saint John the Forerunner and Baptist, as well as to congratulate our Elder, Bishop Parthenius of Antania, on his fifty-sixth birthday.
During a warm and cordial conversation in his office, she conveyed her wishes for his long life and for the ever greater spiritual flourishing of the Bigorski Monastery. Our Elder, in turn, once again expressed his compassion for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, who continue to endure the horrors of the war with Russia, and his hope that, by God’s mercy, the violence would soon come to an end.
