EU Ambassador David Geer Visits the Holy Bigorski Monastery

This afternoon, His Excellency Mr. David Geer, Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to North Macedonia, accompanied by his associates, paid a visit to the Holy Bigorski Monastery of St. John the Baptist. The esteemed guests had the opportunity to closely acquaint themselves with our millennia-old Sanctuary.

In the spirit of monastic hospitality, the Ambassador was graciously received by our Elder and Abbot, Bishop Mr. Parthenius, who introduced the guest to the evangelical mission of our brotherhood..

During the meeting, a profound discussion took place concerning the overall state of Christianity and the pivotal role of the Church in contemporary society.

His Excellency expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Elder for his benevolent contributions to society, wishing him continued success in his pastoral endeavors. In turn, the Bishop thanked the Ambassador for his visit and for the respect shown.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Geer and his delegation had the opportunity to visit the Bigorski library, where they admired some of the rare manuscripts and explored the extensive collection of books.
