Meeting with the Acting Ambassador of North Macedonia in the State of Israel

During the pilgrimage in the Holy Land, our Elder, Bishop of Antania Mr. Partenij, today in Jerusalem met with the Acting Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to the State of Israel, His Excellency Mr. Maciej Kaczorowski. At the heartfelt meeting, which took place at the request of Mr. Kaczorowski and to mutual satisfaction, the Elder and the Acting Ambassador shared the mutual joy of the significant events that took place over the last few days in the Holy City, namely our brotherhood’s meeting with the Patriarch of Jerusalem Mr. Mr. Theophilos and the historic concelebrations at Golgotha, in the Church of the Sepulchre of the Most Holy Theotokos in Gethsemane, at the All-Holy Sepulchre of the Lord, and especially today’s at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, on the occasion of the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross. Simultaneously, the experienced Macedonian diplomat, who immediately after our Church was accepted into liturgical and canonical unity in May this year, had a meeting on this occasion with Patriarch Theophilos, expressed his satisfaction with the ecclesiastical diplomacy of our Holy Synod, which through the appeal to the Ecumenical Patriarchate managed to reach canonical unity and concelebration with the local Orthodox Churches. In the context of this, speaking from the experience gathered from meetings with church dignitaries, His Excellency conveyed his support to our hierarchs for completing negotiations with the Ecumenical Patriarchate to receive the Tomos for the autocephaly of the Ohrid Archbishopric.
